  • Recently, the Yazbeck family opened a new museum (still rated as an exhibit) in Jdeidet. It houses treasures from the Lebanese Marine wildlife most of which have disappeared, unfortunately. The building itself is a traditional Lebanese architectural marvel from the turn of the century. It is a private venture from the Yazbeck's. Thank you.

  • The National museum is still being renovated and is scheduled to reopen soon. The exterior is completely re-finished. The work is concentrating now on uncovering and documenting the treasures that were hidden during the war. During the worst of the fighting, some good hands had the time and the guts to show up and take most valuable items to secret safe locations in the country. They did put protective cement on heavy items. Thank God, most of the museum valuables were saved. Former President Sarkis had a lot to do with it. Michel Edde and former president Helou participated, among others.

  • Many people who visit Lebanon forget to visit the Sursock Museum for arts in Ashrafyeh. The building itself is worth seeing. Many exhibits are held in the Fall, especially. Very soon, Byblos will have its own museum of fossils found through out the Lebanese land.

  • Moussa Palace is near Deir-El-Qamar. It houses a variety of traditional artifacts from the last century. It also has a Nativity creche where many statues are moved by water. Before you leave you may sit down in a traditional lounge where you can sip the bitter coffee served by a intersting guy. By the way, the palace was built by a single person. Why? get there and he will tell you(he's always there). If you can't wait e-mail me, and I'll tell you.

  • The Wax Museum in Byblos opened again. You can see almost every notable Lebanese person. The expo includes all categories of achievements. Try it and tell me.
